The Challenge

Ambasat is a UK-based immersive DIY that provides secondary school students and DIY enthusiasts the experience to build their own small satellite(chipsat) and launch them into space. The goal of this work was to help the company improve their web UX and improve the site so as to attract the younger audience and convey a compelling message.

User Research

Key Research Findings:

The Satellite Kit is the main selling point rather than the course.
Visitors to the website should understand the benefits of the business offerings.
Website must appeal to the younger audience.
The platform must answer common questions users may have and simplify queries.
Detailed description of the product must be available but should not use technical jargon.
Pictures and other media should be available and attract kids.
Platform must comply to the WCAG requirements.
A redesigned ecommerce store is required.
Must have a clear "Call-To-Action".
Must abide by the fundamental design principles.
Design styles must be consistent and follow standards throughout the entire website.
Text, media, color, etc. must provide sufficient contrast to improve usability.
